While making an official visit to Malaysia at the beginning of February, Dr. Jonathan Choi recognized the seriousness of the novel coronavirus in Wuhan. He immediately searched for medical protective gears including face masks, surgical gowns, headgears, gloves, and sanitizers for donation to the Hubei Red Cross, and also arranged some back to Hong Kong.
Members of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) via various channels made orders of face masks and sanitizers worldwide with total donation over HK$20 million. Upon returning from Malaysia, Chairman of CGCC Jonathan Choi together with Vice-chairmen and members distribute face masks and sanitizers free to the Hong Kong communities at their Central office. At the same time, the same will be distributed to the elderly, grassroots and the needies via social welfare organizations.
